PUMPKANNONS

While the Pumpkling scourge has lessened across Stoica in recent times as farmers and adventurers alike have become more vigilant in maintaining their patches and weeding out any would-be sprouts of this sinister plant, the Pumpklings that have survived have made their own adaptations, and their new monstrous forms are more adept at protecting their patches and decimating their foes than ever before.

EVOLUTIONARY TAMPERING

Not all of the Great Pumpkings of the world were destroyed, and those that remained sought a way to bolster their forces after suffering a distinct defeat near the time of Stoica's last Harvest Moon Festival. These crafty creatures discovered forbidden magics hidden away in a manor that the locals stayed away from. Frankogar's manor held a treasure trove of magical and mechanical enhancements, and with the mad scientist too busy creating his own monstrosities to notice when others were on the scene, they acquired a number of potions and parts to enhance the next generation of Pumpklings, creating an army of artillery.

SLOW BUT DEADLY

Pumpkannons are, for lack of a better term, the Pumpkling's form of artillery cannons. They are slow-moving, and perform relatively poorly in close quarters, but their accuracy and power from afar is terrifying. The combination of magical and mechanical tampering they have undergone has resulted in these creatures possessing more flesh-like features, a result of Frankogar's propensity for creating fleshy monsters. Yet somehow, while these changes have given the creatures arm-like appendages and fleshy parts, they have also simplified the creature's faces to look even more pumpkin-like than those of their predecessors. These changes are effective, but have resulted in many of the other Pumpkin Horrors looking down on these "lesser" forms of life.

PROTECTORS AND PAWNS

It would seem that although these powerful creatures are capable of inflicting massive damage to the Pumpkling's enemies, their status among the ranks of other Pumpklings
does leave something to be desired. They are tasked with guarding Pumpkling breeding grounds from would-be trespassers, and take orders from Patch Sentinels and Great
Pumpkings in these efforts. Only Pumpkling Horrors are lower than they in the creatures’ strange caste system, but in spite of their low repute amongst their peers, they are a terrifying force to be reckoned with, and are unfailingly loyal, seeing the protection of their patch to be a task worth dying for.
